2012 Ginny Patin Scholarships
The Members of the California Seed Association have been assisting outstanding college students in achieving their scholastic goals through the Ginny Patin Scholarship Foundation. Due in part to the wonderful support of CSA members at the Mid Year Bocce Ball and Golf Tournaments and through additional contributions, the Ginny Patin Scholarship Foundation is financially strong. CSA is pleased to offer three $2500 scholarships this coming year to qualified students. The 2012 Ginny Patin Scholarship Applications are now available online at the CSA website.
CRITERIA
Awards are made on the basis of the following criteria:
*interest – current and future – in the seed industry and/or agriculture
*scholastic achievement and activities
*essay
*financial need
*letter of recommendation
*CSA affiliation
ELIGIBILITY
Acceptable fields of study include, but are not limited to: Agribusiness with an emphasis in Plant Science, Botany, Plant or Seed Physiology, Plant Science and Soil Science. Special interest in the seed industry is a plus. High school graduating seniors, undergraduate and graduate students enrolling or enrolled on a full-time basis in college or universities in the state of California are eligible.
DEADLINE
Applications must be received in the CSA Office no later than January 6, 2012. Public announcement of the awards will be made at the California Seed Association’s Annual Convention February 19-21, 2012. Scholarship recipients, as well as other applicants will receive notification by mail following the announcement of the awards.
